Celebrating the day of American independence is an all-day event in many communities and Arlington is no exception. Experience a day of celebration during the Fourth of July in Arlington! Here’s a little information about a certain parade that serves as an all-day affair for visitors of all ages.
Arlington Fourth of July Parade
Wake up early this upcoming Fourth of July, because the Arlington Fourth of July Parade isn’t a festivity you’ll want to miss! The parade kicks off at 9 a.m. with a theme of Texas Style. The parade stands as the oldest event in Arlington’s history and is one of the largest Fourth of July parades in all of Texas.
Dottie Lynn and Church Women United founded the parade in 1965. Since then, it’s grown to become a two-mile ordeal with professionally-built and amateur-built floats. The event draws in more than 75,000 visitors each year. Citizens along the parade path even take part by hosting parties on their property.
The parade has grown so large that it now has a website, Facebook page, Twitter, and Instagram. Many people claim to have attended every parade, but The Knights of Columbus hold the record for participating in every single one!
Expect the parade to run around two hours. Plan accordingly!
We here at Hiley Mazda of Arlington hope to see you at the Arlington Fourth of July Parade!
